Nanny on the Run is a Young Adult novel, a story of roots, wings, and unspoken goodbyes, according to the book blurb.
The book is about an 18-year-old girl from Butte Montana who runs to New York to work as a nanny. She finds unexpected challenges and escapes to the house of a man she'd never meant.
Author Karen Buley, in her bio on Amazon, says she, too, was a nanny on the run in 1977. She made the trip from Montana to New York.
Buley's collection of nurses' stories, Nurses on the Run: Why They Come, Why They Stay, was chosen a "Best Books 2010" Awards finalist by USA Book News. Her essays have been published in Family Circle, American Nurse Today, and A Cup of Comfort for Nurses: Stories of Caring and Compassion.
She'll be reading and autographing Nanny on the Run at the Fact & Fiction Bookstore in downtown Missoula on May 3rd from 5 pm to 7.
Karen graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Montana State University and has worked in various medical settings.
According to her website, KarenBuley.com, she lives by the motto, “Dream big and dream fierce” (Viola Davis).
