Mont Cascades Golf Club is moving forward with fresh initiatives designed to produce more success and fun for golfers playing the Gatineau Hills track.

Mont Cascades measures from 5,117 yards to 6,200 yards and is 25 minutes from downtown Ottawa.

One of those ideas is bringing in the Tee It Forward program. TIF has been created to encourage golfers to play from tees best suited to their abilities.

“By sometimes moving up to another set of tees and playing the course at a length aligned with a player’s average driving distance, golfers can experience an exciting, new approach to the game that can produce more enjoyment,” said Kevin Osborne, general manager at Mont Cascades.

“The move means men and women have a better chance at making the green in regulation and increases their opportunity to card more birdies.”

A second concept making the rounds at Mont Cascades involves the roles of the course’s guest assistants.

“We’ve built seven guest assistant teams,” said Osborne. “Each group has been assigned one day a week and their goal is to help players enjoy themselves by providing a higher level of personal service.

“Our guest assistants get to know the first names of players and what they want to get out of playing golf.”

Mont Cascades Golf Club is a par 70/71 that measures from 5,117 yards to 6,200 yards. The lush layout offers eye-catching views of the Gatineau River while winding through the hills.

The course is located about 25 minutes from Parliament Hill and a couple of klicks beyond Mont Cascades Water Park.
