“As an industry we need to draw younger players to our courses,” said Kevin Osborne, general manager at Mont Cascades. “It could be a challenge in the past for kids and teens to get on a course at convenient times so we’ve made it easier by starting a youth membership program for parents to look over.”
There are three categories in the program that is not only affordable; it is also hugely flexible in the choice of tee-times young players can book.
For instance, in the Junior Category for teens 16 to 18 years of age, a yearlong membership costs $195 for play at any time on any day.
The MC Junior Category for teens 13 to 15 years of age is priced at $145 for the year. Boys and girls are able to play anytime during the week and after 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
The Mini MC Category is for children six to 12 years of age. The fee is $95 for the year and they can swing clubs any day of the week after 2 p.m. when accompanied by an adult.
Mont Cascades Golf Club is a par 70/71 that measures from 5,117 yards to 6,200 yards. The lush layout offers eye-catching views of the Gatineau River while winding through the hills.
The course is located about 25 minutes from downtown Ottawa and a few minutes beyond Mont Cascades Water Park.
