MetroPCS presents the international racing series, "Monster Jam," at the BB&T Center from Aug. 15-16. The annual event will include three crowd pleasing features – the pit party, racing and freestyle!

The Party in the Pits will take place on Saturday, Aug. 16 from 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m. Here, fans will get up close and personal shots of the monster trucks and even get to meet the drivers!

The races will include monster trucks from the US Hot Rod Association like the world champion Grave Digger, driven by Gary Porter, Grave Digger Legend, driven by Adam Anderson, Gunslinger, driven by Scott Hartsock, Madusa, Monster Mutt, driven by Whit Tarlton, Fullboar, driven by Ed Eckert and more.

These trucks are approximately 12 feet tall and about 12 feet wide, sitting on top of 66-inch-tall tires and weighing a minimum of 10,000 pounds each. Built for short, high-powered bursts of speed, they generate 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower and are capable of speeds of up to 100 miles per hour.

Could it get any better? Why, yes. Yes, it can. These monster beauties can also fly up to 125 to 130 feet (a distance greater than 14 cars side by side) and up to 35 feet in the air!
