Monster Jam is back at EnergySolutions Arena on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24-25. See the monster truck action of these 12 feet tall, 10,000 pound trucks racing and smashing through obstacles. Monster trucks scheduled to battle are Maverick, Grave Digger, The Felon, Maximum Destruction, Titan, Incinerator and more. 'Simply Sinatra' is a musical tribute to the legend, singer Frank Sinatra by the Utah Symphony with guest vocalist Steve Lippia. This tribute concert takes place on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24-25 at Abravanel Hall, 123 West South Temple in Salt Lake City. Hear Sinatra classics led by conductor Jerry Steichen. Tickets are $27-$85 and can be purchased at the Utah Symphony website, the Abravanel Hall box office or by phone at (801) 355-2787. Showtime is 8 p.m. both days.
Fans of Dean Martin will want to catch 'Ricci Martin - His Son Remembers.' It is a musical tribute of the legendary singer Dean Martin by his son Ricci and his band. They will perform Dean's greatest hits in concert on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24-25 at the Egyptian Theatre in Park City. The show also includes photos of Dean and true stories about Dean told by his son. Some of the songs to be performed include "That's Amore," "Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime," "Volare," and more. Tickets are $25-$45 and are on sale online at the Egyptian Theatre website. The Egyptian Theatre is located at 328 Main Street in Park City. Showtime is 8 p.m.
If you are in the mood for some laughs, check out Rebecca Corry at Wise Guys Comedy Club, 2194 West 3500 South in West Valley City on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24-25. Corry has been seen on television on "Last Comic Standing," "Comedy Central," "ESPN," and in commercials for Hertz. She will perform two shows each day at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 for general admission seating and can be purchased at the Wise Guys Comedy Club website.
The 84th Academy Awards will air live on Sunday, Feb. 26 on ABC. The host this year will be comedian Billy Crystal, who will make his ninth appearance as host. Nominees include George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Glenn Close, Meryl Streep, Viola Davis, Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen and films including "Hugo,'" "The Descendants," "The Help," and "Moneyball."
