Monster trucks, with tires as tall as a person and shock absorbers and axles open to view from under the stylized body, were at the XL Center on February 11th and 12th. 20 truckloads of dirt transformed the XL Center into a monster truck track. Multiple scrap cars were lined up next to dirt ramps and, by the end of the show, they were flattened.
The first round of the competition started with wheelies performed by moving toward the junk cars and the front end of the truck pushed into the air. After the wheelies, the trucks competed in jumping over the cars. They carefully lined up to the dirt ramp and accelerated from a stop to a speed that allowed them the clear all of the cars when they launched off the ramp.
The last round of the competition was a free style where the trucks had 60 seconds to perform as many tricks as possible. There were more wheelies and jumps. The monster truck named Stone Crusher also used a massive dirt ramp to launch himself into the air. Grave Digger, a well known monster truck, also used the large ramp and added donuts where he spun around with his tired kicking up dirt.
Along with monster trucks, there was quad racing and freestyle motocross demonstations.
