'Monster Hunter 4' multi-platform release coming

"Monster Hunter 4" is currently in development, with it already being confirmed for release on the Nintendo 3DS, but it looks like that may not be the only platform to receive the title when it's released.

According to a report from VG24/7 on Friday, a new publication has reported that the reason "Monster Hunter 4" was delayed from being released during March of this year, was because the studio wanted to also port the game over to the PlayStation Vita.

The report stated, "Whilst originally it was said that the delay of 'MH4' was due to wanting to make a better quality game and graphics, the real reason appears to be that it may be released on the PS Vita to increase sales.”

So the report claims that the delay was so this game could be released on both the Nintendo 3DS and the PlayStation Vita.

Capcom has yet to announce anything official as to the title being ported over to the Vita, so take this for what its worth.

IGN lists the description for this game as, "Prepare to say goodbye to all your Japanese friends forever as the fourth chapter of the dominant 'Monster Hunter' franchise comes to the Nintendo 3DS platform."

No mention of the Vita has been made yet.
