Next year will be the first official year of the Ricky Carmichael Road to Supercross, where amateur riders in the AMSOIL Arenacross series compete for a spot in the coveted Monster Energy AMA Supercross field. As such, it will bring an even more competition to the arena racing events, and hopefully increase the quality of the racers in each event.
“Last year’s AMSOIL Arenacross series was unbelievable coming down to the last race in Denver, man it was something exciting” said five-time Monster Energy Supercross Champion Ricky Carmichael. “With all of the amateur riders competing this year in the Road to Supercross, it’s going to be more unpredictable than ever”
In addition to the change in competition, MX for Children's Jackpot Challenge has also been reorganized. Incentive prizes have been added to provide opportunities for participation at every stop for Monster Energy Supercross season, including a top tier award level that brings fundraisers to Las Vegas for the ultimate backstage pass to the finale of supercross. The MX for Children Jackpot Challenge raises funds to cure the childhood brain condition called hydrocephalus, which is the #1 reason for brain surgery in children. MX for Children has raised more than $630,000 for nine children’s hospitals coordinating research efforts into the condition since it was founded in 2006.
“We reorganized our Jackpot Challenge to allow more people to participate in the unique, behind-the-scenes experience at supercross,” said Paul Gross, founder of MX for Children. “Now the kids that do the hard work for our charity have a chance to be recognized and rewarded at every level of fundraising.”
MX for Children’s Jackpot Challenge – truly the ultimate backstage pass to the 2014 Monster Energy Supercross season – rewards qualifying fundraisers with unique individual opportunities as well as the chance to root for their favorite Monster Energy Supercross teams. Recognition now starts at the $25 fundraising level and culminating at the $5,000 Grand Prize level, with VIP trips for two available to these fundraisers to the Las Vegas supercross finale.
