It has been a busy beginning to the year for Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship. With their first round of action completed in Anaheim, the sport continues to grow in popularity and importance. With this spur in public interest comes an increased exposure to multiple sponsorship and charitable partners for the people at Feld Motor Sports® who manage and promote the series.
Increased sponsorship of the series normally trickles down to the riders in terms of larger prize purses, and their official and exclusive footwear and title sponsor of the DC Shoes Defy Convention Last Chance Qualifier Race, DC Shoes, recently announced that the footwear giant will post a $10,000 bonus at each stop of Monster Energy AMA Supercross this season.
“At DC, we recognize that the path to the podium isn’t always the straightest and the sweetest victories are often the ones that are hardest to achieve,” said Jeff Taylor, Senior Vice President of Global Brand and Marketing, DC Shoes. “Monster Energy Supercross already provides a tremendous fan experience and the DC Defy Convention LCQ Challenge will give race fans even more to root for.”
Entering their fourth year as a Monster Energy Supercross sponsor, DC Shoes will pay any rider – in both the 250SX or 450SX Class -- $10,000 if they win the DC Shoes Defy Convention Last Chance Qualifier Race as well as the Main Event.
Some of the sport’s greatest names, including Jeff Emig, Jeremy McGrath and Ricky Carmichael have been a part of DC Shoes’ elite motocross team. Fans can visit their interactive display in the Monster Energy Party in the Pits during all season long as they pay tribute to their roots in the sport.
The sport of racing isn't all about money, however. It's also a good way of helping to bring attention to good causes that benefit from the spotlight that world-class racing action brings with it. During the Seattle stop in April, the MX for Children Supercross Dream Room Makeover will enhance the quality of life for a chronically ill child who is also a fan of Monster Energy Supercross. One child will be selected to receive a complete bedroom makeover themed with Monster Energy Supercross scenes and paraphernalia.
MX for children will be searching the Seattle area community for volunteers and sponsors to help design and develop the child’s room into a special safe haven from the difficulties of illness. Volunteers will work to design and build the Monster Energy Supercross-themed bedroom before the stop at Seattle’s CenturyLink Field.
The selected child will be interviewed by local media during the week prior to Seattle Supercross (April 7) and will be offered an opportunity to participate in MX for Children’s Inside Line Experience. MX for Children and Feld Motor Sports believe this effort will bring joy and excitement into the life of a sick child in the Seattle area.
MX for Children’s Inside Line Experience is a Monster Energy Supercross exclusive with a unique, multi-day behind the scenes look at the sport. The Dream Room Makeover recipient will participate in a “Meet and Greet” with top Monster Energy Supercross racers in a private, informal atmosphere for autographs and pictures. On race day, the selected child will tour factory rigs, walk the Monster Energy Supercross track and enjoy the race with great seats!
For the first-time ever, the entire Monster Energy Supercross season will air live on FOX Sports. FOX Sports 1 will air 13 races live and FOX Sports 2 will air four races live, in addition to every race re-airing on FOX Sports 2. The live Monster Energy Supercross programming on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2 also includes live coverage on the authenticated FOX Sports Go app.
