On Saturday, Feb 8, 2014 Designer Monique Lhullier presented her Fall 2014 RTW collection at Lincoln Center.
The Monique Lhullier woman is bold and dramatic with a hint of a romantic dark side. Pairing signature femininity with a juxtaposition of modern architectural details and old world Parisian couture, Lhullier created a mysteriously provocative collection.
This season was about fusing structure and fluidity-giving soft tulle a contemporary look with unexpected complements of abstract skeletal embroidery, patent leather belts cinching sleek silhouettes and merging glistening cobwebs of cotton lace with vinyl to create a twist on the traditional trench coat. Confetti florals and elegant embroidery were combined with techno-leather, futuristic neoprene and geometric guipure lace. Modern shapes were accented by striking angled hemlines that extended from stirring minis, to coy high-lows and crushing trains for a glimpse of a secret within.

A bold color palette of ornate brushed gold used on baroque lace, brilliant noir, and dramatic midnight was softened by pops of fuchsia and a base of graphite and shimmering blush.
The shoe collection, which was so soft and feminine, featured sheet lace booties, delicate talk shaft lace boots offset with patent leather, brushed suede and hardware. Asymmetrical graphic mules and crystal encrusted sandals that evoked a glamourous and dramatic look.
The show opened with shades of slate grey, black and navy giving off a somber vibe and more of a daytime look but as the looks progressed there was a transition to gowns that were worthy of any red carpet event. As always the collection was stunning and tailored to sweetheart perfection with excellent craftmanship.
