Monique Coleman, a South Carolina native who played Taylor McKessie in Disney's High School Musical series, signed autographs, talked to Starlight kids and exchanged many smiles.  Coleman, a 2-year veteran as one of many Starlight Children's Foundation's Star Power Amassadors, is on break from Hollywood and is running auditions for new parts.   "I love to give back, and I love children.  It is an amazing foundation," Coleman said with a big smile with a pair of reindeer ears on her head.  "Starlight makes life a celebration instead of being sad (for the children with illnesses)."  Coleman feels that she'd be with the foundation for a long time.  She is also with Children's Miracle Network and Amazing Grace, two other nonprofit organizations, according to Coleman.  Coleman was also known for her past recurring role on Disney's Suite Life of Zack and Cody which starred with Dylan and Cole Sprouse.

At the Winter Wonderland event, children from Oak Avenue Intermediate School in Temple City, CA played various wind instruments such as violins as part of the Giving Bach orchestra.

Werkheiser and Pinkston, from Nickelodeon's Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide TV series, introduced Starlight's Star Power Ambassadors present at the celebration: Austin Anderson, Ashlee Keating, Kay Panabaker (http://bit.ly/7opYBK), Tyler Foden and Chloe Jordache.  They all sang "Santa is Coming" as a group, and introduced Santa Claus to the kids.

Raffle prizes, gifts, treats like chocolate fondue fountain, and several workshops such as gingerbread man making and tie pillows entertained families and children.  Children also enjoyed face painting and having their pictures taken with Santa Claus and his wife.

Anderson and Keating performed at the event too.  Keating sang Taylor Swift's song "You Belong With Me."

Disney's High School Musical series' Corbin Bleu (http://www.firstgiving.com/corbinbleu) is the new National Spokesperson for Starlight Children's Foundation (http://www.starlight.org/spokesperson/).

Starlight will have additional events in 2010.
