28-year-old Monica McCarrick has been identified as the Fairfield mom that fatally stabbed her toddler twins to death in an attempted murder suicide last night.
It is suspected that the mother of the 3-year-old twin sisters inflicted the fatal wounds, which nearly decapitated one child, with a 2-foot long sword.
The young girls, Lily and Tori are reported to have been slashed multiple times and were found with their bodies propped against the front door to block entrance into the residence.
Following the murder of her children, McCarrick turned the sword on herself slicing her own throat and wrists and setting a closet in their apartment ablaze.
The sword and a bottle of pills were said to be found in the hallway of the charred crime scene.
Surviving her injuries, McCarrick will be taken straight from John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek to jail where she will face murder and arson charges.

Help, she was also violent to the father. What do you want to bet his requests for help were ignored.
Of interest in this story is that only one run in the UK mentions that she has been charged with committing domestic violence against the children's father. That fact is conveniently excluded from the stories run in the US.

Obviously there were no decent or worthwhile people in this young womans life to intervene and keep the babies till the young mother could sort out her problems. Perhaps a grandmother or grandfather should have been hanging around in her life since the father could not be there. Real family intrudes when they sense problems. Waiting for the tragedy is not the right answer. What happened, Monica? Only Monica can tell us what happened, Not the media.
If I had to guess, she was on some type of chemical anti depressants that distorted her reality. What a tragedy.
yes your right she defently was alone in California but out here she was loved by maney who tried convincing her to come back Monica was a fighter sadly her fight was not enough that night i wish i was wealthy so that i could of booked the next flight out to California and bring her and the girls home now its to late for the girls but not for Monica she is innocent and my prayers are soley of her tonite as i try to get some sleep.please anyone feel free to pray we are going to need it.
If we never hear the mothers account, we will never know what happened. I don't believe a mother killed her twins with a sword. I'd to have to hear that from the mother and not from media peeps.

i always read crazy stories about mothers doing some crazy stuff like that and i think wow what was she thinking or crazy girl.. with anger cause i can never see myself hurting my children Monica is my friend and i know she didnt do what they are saying she loved her kids to much i am going to fight untill the truth is told to what happened that night.
This bitch totally SLAUGHTERED HER KIDS and tried to kill her self so she could get away with it all. too bad she wont. she will sit in jail for the rest of her life and she completely deserves it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i know this story first hand... shes a terrible person.
i pray to god that she didnt do that to those babys.if she loved them like you say then what did happen to those babys?there dead and shes not?how can you answer to that?who won in court did you or was she found guilty?if she did do this may SHE ROT IN HELL
