American treasures and living legends, “The O’Jays” are set to take over Poughkeepsie, New York to perform most of their memorable hits this Saturday, September 21st.
Long-time group members, Eddie Levert, Sr., Walter Williams and Eric Nolan will not only sing their dance-able hits and mesmerize you with their dance-steps, but will include a 15-piece orchestra to their show-stoppin’ performance.
After 50+ years making such international hits as "Back Stabbers," "Love Train," "I Love Music," "Use Ta Be My Girl" and not to forget "For the Love of Money," today's theme song for Donald Trump's "The Apprentice," The O'Jays are no where near stopping or hinting retirement. And like fine wine, The O'Jays just get better with time.
The Backstabbers singers, whether in America or on international soil, is where this phenomenal group lets it all out, and blows away the competition with their soulful singing and bring in "standing room" only audiences.
While the R&B performers are on the road, which is several months during the year, The O'Jays still enjoy the accolades and great compliments from fans and the media.
All generations love the O'Jays, which is why their "For The Love" album, (released in 2001), was a chart-topper, and in 2002, that album was nominated for a Grammy Award.
In addition to their many nominations each year for the past 43 years, these R&B greats continue to receive many awards from various shows and organizations.
"We have three generations at our concerts...the kids, the moms and dads, and the grandmas and granddads," says Walter Williams, Sr., according to their biography article.
The O'Jays, who continue to belt out over four decades of entertaining and 'feel good' music also have guest-starred and acted in television, and will begin writing a book sometime in the near future.
If you want to see this thunderous and talented ensemble, who were not only inducted into both the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in Pennsylvania, and The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, and awarded BET’s ‘Lifetime Achievement Award,’ get on the Love Train, and head to Poughkeepsie’s Mid-Hudson Civic Center, Saturday, September 21, 2013.
Get your O’Jay’s tickets, for this will be their ONLY performance in New York State. Go to: Ticketmaster or Mid-Hudson Civic Center, or call 845-454-5800.
