The Alamo Drafthouse Theater's collectible boutique Mondo has teamed with Disney for its next gallery show "Nothing's Impossible." Featuring extremely collectible movie posters, the Mondo Gallery will be showcasing Disney movie-themed art and posters at the opening of "Nothing's Impossible" on March 7th starting at 3 p.m.
Celebrating both the classic and modern Disney films, "Nothing's Impossible" will prove an exciting team-up between Mondo and Oh My Disney (Disney blog). Not only will it attract Disney lovers from all over, but the work of renown artists Martin Ansin, Ken Taylor, Mike Mitchell and Jason Edmiston will bring in the mondo poster collectors and aficionados who appreciate Mondo movie posters as pieces of art.
As a big fan of most things Disney, I'm excited about the upcoming gallery show. I'm not a die-hard collector, but those of my acquaintance are not at all put-off by the potentially "cutsie" aspect of a Disney inspired show. The fact that some really heavy-hitting artists like Ansin and Taylor are going to have pieces there is enough motivation to be stoked about this showing.
It will be a busy day the Friday that "Nothing's Impossible" opens, as Austin's indie film fest SXSW also opens its cinematic gates then. Don't expect to be able to get anywhere downtown (at least not by car) for the entire week of March 10th. But do try catch Mondo's Disney-film-inspired show at the gallery at 4115 Guadalupe Street.
