More than eight years ago I posted a premonition in my newsletter I had about the U.S. and ever since I've been wondering about it, sometimes out loud in subsequent articles. In that vision, there was something like a big trial that involved the government, where the American people had a sense that justice was served. Following it, there was a hard economic contraction in the country. The “big economic contraction” part really caught my attention.
The headline in today’s UK’s Telegraph is: “BP trial: Luther Strange takes legal centre stage as oil giant faces day of judgment. His name is straight out of the annals of TV crime drama. Luther Strange, Alabama's attorney general, is about to achieve global fame as the face of the prosecution in the trial of America vs BP. Watch for fireworks.”
Also in today’s paper in the New York Times, right on top of an article about next Monday’s BP trial, are two articles about the looming Sequester. If sequestration happens, it fits the prediction of a big U.S. trial followed by a significant economic contraction.
Today Mercury went retrograde for the next three weeks, a potential game-changer; maybe the trial and sequester won’t progress as planned, maybe there'll be a compromise. But the signs don't favor settlements and compromise.
