French giants Monaco have today confirmed the sacking of head coach Claudio Ranieri.
Ranieri had led Monaco from the French Ligue 2 to the 2nd place of Ligue 1, allowing for the side to qualify for next years Champions League. Although Ranieri accomplished this feat for the club the clubs vice president Vadim Vasilyev stated that Ranieri would be "leaving soon. We decided to break up. I would like to pay tribute to Claudio, who did a good job."
He continued by stating ""It is never easy to take a club from Ligue 2 to the Champions League. But we believe that at this stage we need a new dynamic."
It should be noted that the reported favorite for the Monaco head coaching job is Sporting head coach, Leonardo Jardim.
