There are hundreds of ways for moms to connect with each other these days with the use of social media, peer groups that meet weekly, or monthly, and Mommy and Me groups in every community. Moms can meet and connect with arts and craft clubs, exercise groups, and book clubs. There is a wealth of Facebook pages, Twittter accounts, and many moms use Pinterest to connect with each other. Childcare centers and early childhood education schools also host events for moms to connect with each other. Hospitals also sponsor clubs for moms that are great for making connections.
Sarasota has added to the wealth of ways for moms to connect with each other with its radio station WSLR 96.5 LPFM that hosts a talk show for moms every Tuesday from 6-7 p.m. Conversation topics range from pregnancy and childbirth to issues affecting families with infants and young children. Consumer interests for families with infants and young children are also topics of interests.
The talk show, "Maternally Yours" is hosted by women who are well-known in the Sarasota community for their talents in educating moms in areas of interest to new moms and moms who have several children.
Podcasts of the program are also available at MaternallyYoursRadio.podomatic.com. Moms may participate by submitting questions relating to topics of interest at firstname.lastname@example.org
The talk show is a great way to join conversations with other moms and families who have infants and young children without leaving home. Sarasota moms have the opportunity to introduce topics that might not be available for discussion with other venues.
Tune in every Tuesday to use this venue to connect with other moms and make some new friends over the airwaves.
