Moms going back to school

As a stay at home mom you may want to go back to school to get a degree, or go back to get another degree or an advance degree. You may also be thinking that going back to school is nearly impossible with your schedule. It is not impossible. You can be a wife, mother, and a student. You just have to learn to schedule everything out and stick to it.

You will need to decide on regular classroom classes, or online classes. They both have their advantages and disadvantages. If you take online classes, then you can do your work on your time and your way. Online classes can sometimes be harder than regular classes, and you really have to push yourself to keep up on your work and get it done. If you take regular classes then you will have to either find a babysitter, or work your school schedule around your husband’s work schedule. The advantage to regular classes it that you get out of the house for your class so you won’t have distractions to work around, plus you may be able to work in homework time while you are still at school.

While you have to work your schedule around your husband’s or a babysitter, you will also have to fit time in for your cleaning and cooking. As a stay at home mom you still need to keep up on your house work, not saying that your husband can’t help you out. You also will need plenty of time for your children also, that is why you are a stay at home mom, right? You are a stay at home mom to be home with your children.

Start out slow, and don’t over extend yourself. Make sure that your husband supports you 100% or it’s going to be hard to finish. Not saying that you can’t go to school if your husband doesn’t support you, just that it will work better for everyone if you are all on the same page. Lastly help your children understand that you are going to school to help better yourself and to better their futures as well. You still love them, but you just might not be home as much as before. If your whole family is on the same page everything will work out for the best.

Good luck to any moms who are starting their fall semester.
