The MOMS (Moms Offering Moms Support) Club of San Jose provides local moms with resources, support and meetings designed for the stay at home mom in mind.
The MOMS Club of San Jose-Santana Row is part of the International Moms Club with more than 2,000 chapters nationwide and over 100,000 members.
The MOMS Club of San Jose was formed in July 2007 by Erin Nash and Chevonne Johst -sistered from a larger chapter in West/Campbell.
The first MOMS Club was founded in 1983 by Mary James, a stay at home mom who wanted to meet other stay at home moms and to form a resource support group.
The MOMS Club of San Jose-Santana Row is a non-profit support group that provides activities and opportunity for mothers to make friends with other stay at home moms with their children.
Kelly Hall, Membership Vice President of the San Jose-Santana Row Chapter, joined the group in 2007. Hall is one of many moms that often find the transition of career to full time motherhood overwhelming.
"The transition from working a 9 to 5 job to suddenly being at home all day long with an infant was a difficult transition for me," said Hall.
"Amidst all the bottles, diapers, piles of laundry, I needed to find other moms who could relate to my new life," recalls Hall. "The MOMS Club introduced me to a support system of moms I can trust and helped me create new friendships. I don't know what I would have done without this club!"
The MOMS Club provides support and advice from a group of moms that have been there.
A monthly calendar of activities for moms and their children include:
- Scheduled park meets
- Scheduled play dates for the children at various homes
- Mom's night out
- Craft days
- Holiday parties
- Family barbeque's
- Babysitting co-op
The group also offers "sub clubs" that include a Movie Club, Exercise Club and a Craft Club among many others.
The MOMS Club offers a Helping Hands program that provides support for mothers with new babies and assists members who may be suffering from a crisis that may need help with preparing meals, chores around the house, babysitting or providing financial support. The MOMS Club sponsors service projects to benefit needy mothers and children in the bay area and across the country.
The MOMS Club of San Jose provides opportunity for moms and their children to make and build friendships, enhance quality time with their own children and family members from shared advice from other moms, and helps build cherished lasting memories for moms and their children alike.

Individuals interested in joining the MOMS Club of San Jose are encouraged to attend a member meeting held on the first Wednesday of every month at 10:00 a.m. held at a local community center in San Jose.
