Mom wrestles son from kidnapper: Mom and son were unharmed

A mom wrestles her son from a kidnapper after a man tried to snatch the 3-year-old from his bike while they were together in the park. According to police, the mom said she was just spending a day out in the park with her son, when the would-be kidnapper walked by, then turned around and tried to snatch her son. On Jan. 16, WebPro News reported that the courageous mom was able to wrestle her son away from the brazen attacker, and both escaped the ordeal unharmed.

The mom, Camilla McCall, gave the following statement to media sources regarding this terrifying incident,

“He just snatched him around the waist, off the bike and that’s when I jumped on, and grabbed Liam and that’s when we were fighting about him. The only thing I could think of is, I’ve got to hold on to him as tight as I can.”

After the mom wrestled her son away from the kidnapper, the man fled the scene. However, his get-away was short-lived. Police were able to track the suspect due to a receipt they found in a box that had been obtained from a nearby restaurant. When they checked the restaurant surveillance footage they were able to tie the receipt to the kidnapper. Police later arrested the kidnapping suspect and he was identified as 41-year old Jerry White.

When police checked White's record they found he had been arrested a whopping 103 times. Although most of the arrests were for non-violent offenses, many residents found it hard to believe that this man was out of jail after committing so many crimes.

“That is crazy that he is still walking around here in our neighborhood and he’s been arrested that many times,” said McCall.

The mom wrestles her son from a kidnapper, and many are praising her for her bravery. However, many moms would have probably done the same thing in the heat of the moment.
