Mom & tot review: Kung Fu Panda 2

Kung Fu Panda 2 has a lot of heart like the original, but has a more serious plot line as Po searches for his parents than the first that made him the Dragon Warrior. The first Panda was much more light and perfect for preschoolers on up. The sequel is best suited for elementary schoolers. Panda 2 still is filled with lots of kung fu moves and funny, sweet moments. But it also has much harder elements like Po being left alone as his mom saved him from bad guys as a baby panda. My 5.5 year old enjoyed this much more than my 4 year old did. As my four year old found several parts scary and had to cover her eyes. Still, overall the movie is very enjoyable and would make for a good family night movie party over the winter break.

As for the DVD, it comes with several fun features that include the actors on screen, as well as being animated. This made it really easy for my kids to understand how the movie was made and that these actors are the voices behind the characters. They thought that bonus was really cool and I found it quite interesting too.
