A mom is a suspect in a missing baby case in Memphis, Tenn. On Jan. 10, KansasCity.com reported 7-week-old Aniston Walker has been missing since Thursday morning. On Friday, Aniston's mother, Andrea Walker, 33, was charged with abuse and neglect in connection with the baby's disappearance.
"Andrea Walker said she told police that she left her daughter with her 3-year-old son while she took her 5-year-old son to school. When she returned, the baby was gone, but the 3-year-old was still in the house. Walker said the doors were locked when she arrived at home and there was no sign of a break in. She told police only two other people had the key," according to the police affidavit.
The baby's mom is the prime suspect in this missing baby case but the baby's father -- who doesn't live at the same address -- has not been named as a suspect. He was the one who called police after baby Aniston went missing. She has not been found despite police and cadaver dogs searching the area around Walker's home. The area that is being investigated includes a landfill near the family's home. Sadly, police are starting to fear the worst.
"Realistically, 7-week-old kids don't mysteriously disappear without some circumstances behind it. If this was a teenage kid, if this was even a small child of school age, obviously our hopes would be high. But again, 7-week-old children to not have the means to just disappear," said Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong.
The mom suspect in this missing baby case hasn't been too cooperative with police -- and her story doesn't seem to hold up. Those close to the family hope that baby Aniston is found. In the mean time, Andrea Walker is being held on $500,000 bond.
