A mom scolds her daughter, takes a video of the scolding, puts it on Facebook, and shocks the world. "The next time that she's on Facebook and I catch her on Facebook, I'm beating the hell out of her," said the 12-year-old daughter's mom in the scolding video that has been seen by more than 500 million people according to a Feb. 21, 2014, KLTV report.
According to Milwaukee mom Lorraine Walls, her intent of putting the embarrassing video on the girl's Facebook page came after she had learned that 12-year-old Luticia had been talking to a young man and was plotting a fight on Facebook by using a fake profile. Since this was not the first incident of Luticia using a Facebook page as a means to bully others, she had been told not to use Facebook.
The video of the mom scolding her daughter was meant to fight fire with fire. You bully others with Facebook, I bully you with Facebook.
"Tell them that you can't be on Facebook," yelled Lorraine Walls at Luticia in the video. "I can't be on Facebook," one can hear the 12-year-old repeat her mother's words in a monotonous tone. In the video, Lorraine Walls also commands the girl to repeat after her when she says "Tell them that you can't be on Facebook," "I can't have a boyfriend" and "I'm reading my bible."
The mom scolding her daughter, taping it, and publishing it on Facebook is gaining support by some parents who argue that this is a mother’s way of disciplining her daughter. Lorraine Walls told a reporter that "I'm not out to hurt my daughter, I want her to live. I want her to be somebody." After seeing the video of the mother, some people argue that 12-year-old Luticia is already somebody – a bully like her mom.
