Mom leaves kids home alone for days with no electricity or running water

Dianna Nava won’t be winning any mother of the year awards anytime soon, especially after having been arrested for leaving her three kids home alone in Jonesboro, Ark. for almost one week. Making matters worse, the home she left the kids in not only had the electricity turned off, but also had no running water, KAIT reported yesterday.

On an even sadder note, the mom knew there was no power or running water in the home when she left.

According to the Jonesboro Police Department (JPD,) Nava left town with her boyfriend on Sunday, Feb. 10 to travel to Oklahoma.

The power and water to the home had been turned off on Wednesday, Feb. 6.

Nava left her 17-year-old daughter in charge of taking care of her 8- and 6-year-old siblings.

Dianna Nava is currently being held without bond at the Craighead County Detention Center and has been charged with endangering the welfare of a minor.
