Mom Corps: Service helps moms land that perfect job

Photo: Jyn Meyer / StockAlthough Allison O’Kelly had a successful career, she had to make that difficult decision many working moms face. Unable to find that perfect balance between career and family, O’Kelly decided to leave her career  behind in order to care for her child.

O’Kelly noticed that many professional women simply could not find jobs that provided enough flexibility for raising a family. Many of those women were faced with the same dilemma and left the workforce.

Working from home as a consultant, the sinking economy was taking a toll on her husband’s job at the New York Stock Exchange. O’Kelly, now a mother of two small children, began looking for work.

As the economy continued to decline, many women who left successful careers to raise their children, found themselves scrambling to return to the work force in order to help pay the bills.  O'Kelly noticed corporations were looking for Photo: Working Momsexperienced, professional women. She combined the two needs and founded Mom Corps.
