Simone A. Baker, 24, allegedly beat up her child’s kindergarten teacher – who is 49 years old – at Kansas City’s Truman Elementary School, according to Yahoo! News on Saturday. The local police say the mother has received a citation for criminal assault due to her beating of the teacher.
According to the report, Baker entered the school at 6 p.m. on Thursday, ran past the school principal whom she had called just moments earlier as she was coming to the school, went directly to the kindergarten classroom, and got physical with the teacher.
While no students were in the classroom, Baker allegedly told the teacher that she better not touch her kid again, and then she punched her in the head five to ten times. The police report reveals that Baker pulled the teacher out of her chair by the hair and smashed the teacher’s head into a filing cabinet a couple of times.
After that, Baker ran swiftly out of the classroom – just as the principal and an entourage showed up to intervene. From there, Baker ran out of the school.
Baker was provoked when her six-year-old boy came home with a scratch on his neck. It appears that her son told her that the teacher caused the scratch when she punished him for something he had done at school that day.
School officials at Hickman Mills School District confirmed that something did happen between the boy and the teacher that day.
The boy told the police on Friday, however, that the teacher didn’t hurt him.
The teacher was checked out at a local hospital and is all right. The parent, however, will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, according to a school district’s spokesperson.
