Mom and four kids go missing driving to Michigan

The authorities announce on Monday they are still searching for a mother and her four children that went missing as they were traveling from Texas to Michigan.

Katrina Hernandez left Dallas with her four children and an unknown friend to drive to Kalamazoo, Mich. to go and live with her family. She left on March 5 and was expected to arrive in Kalamazoo on March 7, but she never showed up, reports WOOD TV news.

Katrina's brother Kenneth Gordon told WOOD TV they he had talked to her on her cell phone as she was traveling along I-20 from Dallas to Fort Worth. She had her children with her and she said she was going to purchase a car on Craigslist with the $4,800 in cash that she had on her. Since then all cell phone calls to Hernandez have gone to voice mail.

Gordon also said that his sister was suppose to visit family in Oklahoma on the way and she never showed up there either.

Katrina had been arguing with her boyfriend, but police said that he has been cleared and is not considered a person of interest in Katrina's disappearance.

Hernandez was driving a maroon 2001 Ford Expedition with license plate D187X064. If you see her or the vehicle or have any information, please contact the Dallas Police Department at 214-671-4243.
