Sun WineFest, the annual beer, wine and spirits event at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT, turns 10 this year, celebrating with an expanded number of seminars, programs, tastings, special events and celebrity chefs, authors and personalities, Jan. 25-27.
Industry experts and specialists will guide attendees into the world of wine, beer and spirits with programs such as Argentina and Malbec: The Perfect Pairing, on Sat., Jan. 26 at 2:30 p.m. when Jimena Turner, Director of Wine Educationo at Alamos Winery, will offer an overview of Argentina and its wine, particularly Malbec, as they relate to the wine world at large. The event, $45 a head, is one of many throughout the three day Fest.
Learn how Lorenzo Canella, owner of Canella Winery, blends his Venetian Prosecco with the juice of Italian peaches to make a drink made famous by "The Floating City" - $50 per person, at Todd English's Tuscany on Sat., Jan. 26 at 12:30 p.m.
David Yarrington, director of brewing operations at Smuttynose Brewing Co., teaches how to pair specialty ales with artisanal cheeses at Tuscany on Jan. 27 at 12:30 p.m. The seminar also features ParadoX, a specially created IPA for the Sun WineFest 10th anniversary.
The Grand Tasting on Jan. 26 and 27th includes the 4th annual Grape Stomp presented by Ciroc Ultra Premium Vodka and 9th annual Mohegan Sun Oyster Open, presented by Bud Light Lime - highlights of the event annually.
