Mohawk Place will be playing host to Buffalo locals Erickson, Inlite, and Sunday Radio this Labor Day Sunday. Also hitting the stage will be Vega Under Fire of Naples, FL.
Dan Erickson is no stranger in or out of the Buffalo music scene. After being in various bands, Erickson took things into his own hands and went solo releasing his EP Go For the Gold in 2008 and his full length Whatever it Takes earlier this year. Whatever it Takes is available regionally at Hot Topic stores and on iTunes. He will be releasing a new song on his myspace tomorrow, September 6th.
Inlite is a young five piece alternative rock band formed by locals Jordan Dixon and Griffin Smith in 2007. They released their five song EP, Canopus, January of this year after adding additional members to the mix. You can also catch them at the Music Is Art Festival on September 12th.
If you're into electronic pop rock and haven't listened to Sunday Radio, your ears are missing out. Formed late in 2007, Sunday Radio is sure to make some noise with thier full length digital release The Things We'll Miss the Most later this month. Their EP Building Seascapes is available for download on iTunes and amazonMP3. The band has also made their cover of Death Cab for Cutie's "Transatlanticism" available for free download here.
Vega Under Fire has a very simple philosophy: "We believe the individuals who hear music should have just as much fun listening to it, as we do playing it." This philosophy is starting to pay off for the indie dance pop rock band. In 2008 they were named one of the top 21 unsigned artists of 2008 by purevolume.com. Absolutepunk.net, Alternative Press Magazine, Guestlist Magazine, & Pulse Magazine have all given rave reviews to their latest Life of the Party EP. This is definatly one band you want to keep your eye on in the coming months.
