Get ready for the FUN one! The Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS) 19th Annual Bank of America Wine, Spirits and Culinary Celebration takes place this year on Friday, April 4, 2014. Now celebrating its 19th year, the MODS is widely hailed as Ft. Lauderdale's "Do Not Miss" culinary event of the year. And like a good wine, the Celebration gets better each year. In fact, according to event co-Chair Mark Talbott "last year’s Celebration set an attendance record with over 2,000 guests – and this year seeks to top that record!"

And what a Celebration it will be! Just check out this year’s lineup of all-star eateries, including: 3030 Ocean, A Thierry’s Catering, Agape Cakes, Inc., Aruba Beach Café, Beauty and the Feast, Bravo, Café Ala Carte, Café Vico, Cookies by Design, Crepemaker, D’Angelo Pizza + Winebar +Tapas, Grateful Palate, Grille 401, Himmarshee Public House, Hoffman’s Chocolate, Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six, Johnny V. Restaurant, Mancini Las Olas, Michele’s Dining Lounge, Publix Aprons Cooking School, ROK: Brgr, S3, SAIA, Sea Level, Shooters, Susie’s Scrumptious Sweets, Texas de Brazil, Thasos Taverna, The Capital Grille, The Melting Pot, Timpano, Truluck’s, Vienna Café & Wine Bar, Whole Foods Market, YOLO, and more! Also on tap: A vast array of international wines, spirits, and craft beers, courtesy of Southern Wine and Spirits. Each guest receives a complimentary Reidel wine glass; and also gets to vote for their favorite “Peoples’ Choice Award” dish, and to bid on some amazing silent auction prizes.

But in addition to the food, wine, seminars, and general frivolity, what makes this even really cool is the setting. It all takes place within the Museum of Discovery and Science, and guests are free to roam, explore, discover, and play amongst the multitude of exhibits, special seminars, and other fun stuff.

The festivities kick off with a VIP Martini Reception from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. VIP guests enjoy an early tasting, plus an exclusive wine seminar, goodie bag, and more. After the main event, the VIP evening concludes with exclusive access to the ultra-chic Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort VIP Lounge to eat, drink and dance under the stars from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on the Museum’s Atrium.

Special seminars include a champagne tasting by “Champagne Wayne” at 7:00 and a wine tasting by Big 105.9’s Paul Castronovo at 8:00. (love his Castronovo Montepulciano D’Abruzzo!). Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for VIP admission and at 7:30 p.m. for general admission.
