The race of the greats from Italy and USA battle it out up to 160 mph in this illegal, interstate street race. These aren't the stock versions either! An amazing collection of performance and speed, these two modified super cars commence street war for top speed domination. A couple of quick pulls from various speeds shows just how fast a twin turbo Lamborghini Gallardo can truly be against the likes of even the most infamous Corvette ZR1. By adding a twin turbo to the Gallardo's already high red line, an extremely potent combination of boost and long gears literally kills the Corvette ZR1. Let's check out the modifications of each vehicle!
Lamborghini Gallardo modifications:
- 14 pounds of boost
- Race gas
- Twin turbo kit by Doug Levin Motorsports
- Other supporting mods unknown
Corvette ZR1 modifications:
- Upper and lower pulleys
- LT headers
- Port and polished throttle body
- Deleted cats
- ECU tune
No matter how you look at it, the twin turbo Lamborghini Gallardo built by Doug Levin Motorsports is completely dominating this race. Watch out Corvette, get too close and you'll be burned by the Lambo's afterfire! Running high boost levels and rich fuel conditions to create power, the left over fumes in the exhaust ignite when they hit the hot turbo internals causing the afterfire explosion out of the vehicles rear. A true masterpiece from Italy, this automotive art has been transformed into beauty and speed. Do not second guess this Lamborghini Gallardo, it will burn you!

Great article.
Looks like the Corvette only lost by about 3 cars. Not exactly the dramatic killing you describe.
Hmm ya, not that impressive for a twin turbo Lamborghini. The Corvette seem to have a much more natural and smooth power, which seems rightfully so.
I'd like to see these cars start from a dig.
