Modesto Nuts play final game of season with over six million fans

Aug. 30: The Modesto Nuts welcomed their sixth-millionth minor league fan (Modesto Bee video), Sara Randall, a teacher at Modesto's Garrison Elementary, and her son Preston. Sara was rewarded with a handsome prize package (Modesto Bee blog) that included 2015 season tickets, a team replica jersey, autographed team ball, a night in a VIP suite, other assorted Nuts merchandise, and the opportunity to throw out the first pitch on Opening Night next season.

One million fans ago, it was May 17, 2009. Never before has Modesto minor league baseball reached a millionth fan milestone in that short a time period.

TONIGHT was their last game of the season. Matt Flemer hurled a complete-game shutout to cap the 2014 season with an 8-0 win over the Ports (Modesto Nuts on Twitter). Next season's tickets can be purchased by visiting or by calling (209) 572-4487.
