'Modern Family' star Sarah Hyland joins 'Bonnie and Clyde' cast

"Modern Family" star Sarah Hyland is expanding her working profile and heading over to Lifetime Network to do a four part Bonnie and Clyde biography/ drama series, reports The Hollywood Reporter on March 18.

The docu-series will revolve around the infamous depression era bank robbing duo Clyde Barlow and his sister-in-law Bonnie Parker. Hyland is set to play Blanche Barrow, the wife of Clyde's brother Buck Barrow of the notorious Barrow gang.

Sarah Hyland will play alongside Emile Hirsch playing Clyde, and William Hurt playing Frank Hamer, the Texas Ranger famed to be the one that tracked down, and killed the notorious bank robbing gangsters. Holly Hunter will also be playing a part as Bonnie's mother.

This will be Hyland's second project with Lifetime and it will be the first project that is intended to air on both Lifetime and History Channel networks. There is no set date as to when production of the docu-series is beginning to film but it will likely be soon.
