Now that Prop 8 has been been overturned, America's favorite gay TV couple, Mitch and Cam of "Modern Family" may be getting hitched according to a Deadline report on Aug. 14. While executive producer Steven Levitan doesn't want to come right out and say that there is going to be a wedding, they do plan on having some fun now that same-sex marriage is legal in California.
The season premiere set to show on Sep. 25 is called "Suddenly Last Summer" and was written by Jeffrey Richman, one of the gay writers of the show. When the series began, there were no gay writers and everything was ran by Jesse Tyler Ferguson, the only openly gay person of the show. After awhile, he got tired of being the "sensor" of the show and begged Levitan to hire some gay writers-- which they did. Now the show has two gay writers and is one of the continuously top rated shows.
It seems as though a wedding for Mitch and Cam was a long time in coming and now that Prop 8 was overturned, it is more than likely going to happen. While the season opener isn't likely to start the season with a wedding they will likely be talking about the overturn of Proposition 8 and the legal right for same sex marriage.
