Plus size model Liris Crosse has been called the Naomi Campbell of the plus size industry because of her fierce runway walk and her stunning looks.
The Baltimore native is one of the hardest working models in the industry; she has walked at Full Figured Fashion Week in New York, she has done print work for Ashley Stewart and has worked as an actress in several movies.
Liris is also the creator of “Life of a Working Model”, a model boot camp she created to help aspiring plus size models and also as a way to give back to the community.
We caught up with the busy model and she answered some questions exclusively for us, check it out:
EFR 1-How long have you been modeling and how did you get started?
LC- I have been modeling over a decade now. I started right out of high school; it has always been my first love! I got started thru a models convention called Model Search America. I went twice but agents wanted me to lose weight. I moved to NY to do commercial modeling & they ended up setting me up with Wilhelmina Models in the 10/20 division. I worked with them for years. I am now with Dorothy Combs Models!.
EFR 2-Tell us something that people would be surprise to know about you?
LC- My parents are pastors back in Baltimore, MD. They are my biggest fans & my upbringing has helped me keep my drive & sanity in this career path I chose.
EFR 3-Let’s talk fashion; tell us about your personal style?
LC- Crazy, Sexy & Cool: Some days I love dressing up in a sexy dress or gown that can make men suddenly thirsty lol. I also like to try trends that some can deem crazy or loud colors & prints, interesting designs & shoes. For example, I will mix camo with patent leather boots & gold jewelry. But mostly I like comfortable but cool outfits like fitted jeans with my combat boots & baby tees, sweatshirts or interesting tops.
EFR 4-What are your goals and where do you see yourself in 5 years?
LC- In 5 years I hope to be the official name for a brand, touring doing my #LifeOfAWorkingModel boot camps & extended classes, taking great movie roles, expanding my brand with a boutique, happily married & maybe my first kid or two. I love what I do!
EFR 5-We always like to end our interviews with this question, what is your favorite quote?
LC-Words are spirits so be careful what you say cause you can speak life or death upon yourself"-- my mom, Delois Crosse.
