Model Erin O'Connor dons menswear for Hackett London! (Photos)

Female model Erin O'Connor was the focus in menswear for Hackett London fashion show at the London Collections: MEN AW13 at St Paul's Cathedral on January 7, 2013 in London, England.

Donning black trousers and crisp white shirt – stylishly left open to mid-chest – Erin accessorized with a burgundy velvet cummerbund, black bowtie dangling open about the shoulders and comfy black loafers.

Dramatic deep crimson lips, well-defined brows and slicked back hair added to the striking androgynous look…

Male models too got some “manscaping” done, getting their eyebrows refined and mascara applied. Hair too was slicked back and lips defined. The look was polished and reminiscent of times gone by…

As for the Hackett London collection as presented today, coattails, bowties, striped trousers and waistcoats, topped off with the odd hat or two…

Then there was a shock of color with the red trousers, teamed with turtleneck, grey jacket and black winter coat. Brown leather gloves, black loafers and navy plaid overnighter completed the ensemble.

Jeremy Hackett apparently doesn’t like things to be “matchy matchy.” The amber and black plaid jacket, teamed with two shades of yellow in the way of a turtleneck and trousers as well as a black overcoat, is another example.

The talents of French model Clement Chabernaud were also enlisted on the catwalk, donning an embroidered and tasseled fez to go with his plaid jacket and turtleneck ensemble.

But back to Erin in boys’ clothes… Designer Jeremy Hackett certainly made a bold and effective move by having Erin O'Connor model for him on the catwalk!

Pretty soon more women will be going androgynous, I suppose… Does the look work?
