Model and Actress InkerBella is an Evolving Work of Art

The New Year is almost upon us.  For some, it is a time of change, personal evolution and a time to shed the old and welcome in the new.  I couldn’t think of a better way to wrap up my first year with Examiner.com than with a performer who exemplifies creative evolution and is living her happily ever after, every day.   InkerBella is a model, actress, wife, mother and muse/canvas for the alternative/pin-up/tattoo movements.  She also has a signature perfume line to die for.  I’m happy to have InkerBella as my year-end guest!

2012 is right around the corner.  Any New Years resolutions?

I know time is sure flying fast!  Resolutions this year would be to continue to spend lots of time with my family and keep working on more amazing acting projects.

You’re an actress, model, mother, wife and have a signature perfume line what do you find the most challenging about balancing all of these roles?

Hummmm...the most challenging huh? I'd say that none of them are a huge challenge, for some reason I've been lucky enough to learn to balance it all out.

Tell me about your signature perfume line?  What inspired it?  Where can my readers buy it?

So my line started in 2009. The 1st in my signature line is the "Inkerbella Perfume". It smells of Jasmine and Vanilla with a hint of soft musk. It's comes in the cutest vintage looking bottle.  The 2nd scent in my line is "Inkerbella's Candy Floss Perfume". This one is my personal favorite and it smells just like cotton candy!  It smells so good you'll want to nibble on your arm!!  Not only do I have my full sized perfumes, but I also have roll-ons and car air fresheners as well.  I was lucky enough to make a connection with Juli Rice of Black Corset Candles. We worked, collaborated, and came up with what I have today.  She's been super to work with.  People can purchase my perfumes online www.inkerbella.com or email me bella@inkerbella.com.  Another link to buy directly from Black Corset Candles... http://www.etsy.com/shop/blackcorsetscents

What has been the highlight of your career so far?  Your most challenging on-screen role?

A highlight thus far in my career......I really do feel like everything I've done has been an amazing highlight. I've learned so much from everything I have done. If I'd have to pick just one though, I'd say working on set of CSIfor 2 days was SUPER amazing!!  I got to meet and work with some amazing talent!  The episode I'm in aired on Nov.2nd, 2011 on CBS called "Freaks and Geeks" Episode 6, Season 12. You can find links online now if you missed the episode, or visit my blog for the link!
But honestly, all along my acting career this far I've met super amazing people! I just love my horror/Sci-fi/Thriller Film Family and I'm looking forward to continue what I do and meet and work on other great projects.
Now, my most challenging on-screen role so far...
I would have to say, playing a dominatrix in the Indie film "One Car Funeral."  It was a blast and I did lots of studying for that role. On set, I had a few screens where I needed to get a bit violent. Anyone who really knows me knows that I'm a pretty happy go-lucky type person....so for me....it took a bit of work. Once I was in the zone though...I was there!

Modeling and acting can be physically and emotionally draining.  What do you do to manage stress and stay focused?

Yes, as with any job that can be the case.  The good news is I love what I do so for me I just enjoy the ride.  If I'm being honest though, sometimes wondering and waiting for the next gig is a bit stressful for me. I'm super lucky to have my Hubby Tattoo Jared (www.tattoojared.com) He really helps balance me out.  He's very supportive and helps me stay focused and positive. I'm a chatterbox, so the way I manage my stress is by talking things out. I'm lucky to have my Hubby, Daughter and a few close friends I can do that with.
I'm a very planned out person, so the most challenging thing for me with acting has been letting go a bit because sometimes you get auditions or gig info. The night before.  I'm learning how to adjust the way I operate; it’s getting easier for me now.

What’s one misconception people have about you or a preconceived notion about the work you do?

Well some people think I just hang out at the tattoo shop all day.  But in reality, I'm a pretty hard worker. I clean my own house, cook my own meals and besides modeling and acting I have a job as an Office Manager. So I keep pretty busy, just the way I like it!  Preconceived notions I get, that I'm a suicide girl, not true! I've modeled for other companies similar in the past, but have never been interested in joining suicide girls.

Society often judges by appearance, is the world getting more open minded towards the alternative movement?

Yes sad but true.  I'd say it's a 50/50 deal.  You find some people who are all about it, and pretty supportive. I do think it's getting better though, I have noticed through the years that more people are supportive than not.  Then there are others who are a bit more closed-minded.  It's ok though because if we were all the same the world would be a boring place.  This is me, and if you do just judge and not take time to "Open the book" per say, and learn about the person inside then that's your choice.

I picked three words from your online profiles/website.  Pick one and define it:

Creepy:  Something that feels right at home to me, something that others might find spooky, but to me is normal.
Grateful:  How I feel about EVERYTHING I have and the all the people I meet and work with.
Freak:  Something interesting and worth checking out.

Any fantasy/dream projects?

Oh gosh, we could be here a while!  My ultimate fantasy or dream project would be to be a regular on a TV show, not sure which one or something new, but just to have a re-occurring role would be a dream come true!
Dream projects to able to work on the TV shows House, M.D., NCIS, and Sons of Anarchy.  Would also love to work with Tim Burton, I really enjoy the things he creates as well as Guillermo del Toro.  I'd like to dabble more into Voice Over work and do some more commercial work too.

What does being brave mean to you?

Being brave to me means to do what you know is right in your heart, to follow it and stand up for what you believe. Even if it might be outside the norm.

What’s next for you in 2011 and beyond?

Well to continue to audition and work on other neato projects.  You never know where I'll pop up next, I'm on this amazing path and where ever it takes me....I'll be ready for it!  Thanks again to all my friends and fans that continue to support and follow my work. It really does mean so much to me!  Big HUGS ;)
