"Mockingjay - Part 1" Plot Twist Brings Effie Trinket to District 13

Three months shy of the release of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1," Lionsgate dropped six new character stills. On the heels of launching a website specifically for District 13, fans gladly took a peek at the large cerement wall surrounding the controlled and systematized new living space for several districts. The most shocking revelation thus far is the additional screen time allotted to Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks).

In the book version, Effie was left in the Capitol after Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) broke the force field of the deadly arena with a bolt of lightning. Fans now know the movie adaptation veered from that angle and brought the flamboyant character to the colorless District 13. Miss Trinket seems pained having to pose without a drop of makeup or her usually flavorful attire. Effie appears to desperately hold onto her Capitol Couture by pairing orange booties and colorful bangles with stark grey tights and a denim top cinched at the waist.

Managing to escape to District 13 after breaking out of the arena, Jeffrey Wright's character Beetee is shown confined to a wheelchair after his injury from the imploding force field. District 12's drunken mentor Haymitch Aberathy (Woody Harrelson) stares downcast next to the towing cement wall seemingly lost in thought.

Finnick Odair (Sam Clafin) and President Alma Coin (Julianne Moore) also received a character poster and their individual poses appear to mirror one another. Facing in opposite directions, the two clasp their hands together behind their backs while offering a sideways stare into the camera. Head Gamaker Plutarch Havensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) exudes a more friendly persona with his flat smile nearly curving at the ends.

Fans are impatiently awaiting the arrival of Jennifer Lawrence's character poster to catch a glimpse of the Mockingjay. Katniss cautiously steps in to lead the rebellion against the Capitol after unwillingly becoming the symbol of the uprising. Miss Everdeen will yet again have to fight to save the ones she loves as she fearlessly attempts to put an end to President Snow's reign. “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part1” opens in theaters on November 21st, 2014.
