MobileTrax shines a spotlight on mobile and wireless

Each year, Gerry Purdy of MobileTrax presents a comprehensive list of awards to those in the mobile and wireless industries that have released or are about to release products making a significant impact on the industry. Voting is done by industry analysts and the press, and awards are presented during the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

This year’s award ceremony took place at Bellagio on January 9th. Keynotes were delivered by Chris Penrose, Sr. VP of AT&T Emerging Devices and Tim Wagner, VP of B2B Sales at Samsung. Four additional presentations highlighted cutting edge technologies that are just getting ready to enter the market.

Winner of the Product of the Year went to Samsung Galaxy SIII.

Rookie of the Year went to bSafe, a mobile safety app that could honestly save your life – combining video, siren and live GPS tracking, it will come in handy in emergency situations.

mGive won for Social Impact. Non-profits register to get a keyword and short code that they can use on billboards or advertising. Donors text the keyword to the short code and their donation is charged to their cellphone.
