One of the newest smartphone contenders Huawei announced the release of the Ascend P2 to the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain on Feb. 24, 2013. This was first reported by BBC News.
The Ascend P2 smartphone is powered by the Android operating system. It's advertised by Huawei as the world's "fastest" smartphone available currently. Huawei considers it the fastest smartphone due to the inclusion of the LTE Cat 4 chip. If proven, this chip will give Ascend P2 users the ability of constant 4G download speeds up to 150 megabits per second.
If Huawei truly has the "fastest" smartphone currently available, it will skyrocket users current 4G download speeds. Huawei will become a major contender in the smartphone wars. Samsung and Apple will have to answer Huawei with a speedy smartphone contender of their own.
