Can you love someone into a better version of him or herself? Most people would say, "No." Academy Award winning actress, Mo'Nique may tell you differently. Mo'Nique was known as a plus-size funny lady, with a love for her overabundance of curves.
Today, Mo'Nique is a wife for a second time, mother of four and a svelte version of her once close to 300 lb self. She credits her husband, Sidney Jackson for inspiring her transformation. Mo'Nique spoke with the crew of HOT 97 on Monday morning about her 82 lb weight loss and the truth behind her "open" marriage.
Mo'Nique revealed that Jackson helped her to finally pay attention to her weight and the health risks it could cause. She also spoke of how he changed her perception of marriage and how to be a wife to him. Mo'Nique expressed that the women in her family had never taught her how to love a man, so she never knew how.
It was Jackson who taught Mo'Nique what it meant to be a loving wife and appreciate who she had at home. For many years of the star's marriage, the public had a perception that Jackson requested an "open" marriage. However, the actress set everyone straight, when she dropped the bomb that it was she who requested an open relationship.
