MMA veteran Michele Gutierrez took to Twitter on Jan. 13 to announce her admiration for Invicta FC strawweight contender Bec Hyatt.
"I'm kinda obsessed w.. @RowdyBec," Gutierrez tweeted.
Gutierrez, 31, took it a step further just hours later, as she used the phrase "girl crush" to describe how she feels about the dynamic Aussie star.
"I might be the club leader .. I love her ;) #girlcrush rt“@mattmayo13: @mgutierrezlv @RowdyBec Join the club! ;)” Gutierrez wrote on her personal Twitter page.
Hyatt shot back with a little love of her own, as she retweeted Gutierrez's post.
Male MMA fans shouldn't get too hyped up with lesbian fantasies of Hyatt and Gutierrez, as both women are in serious relationships with men.
It appears that the ladies were just having some fun on social networking sites, and fans shouldn't take the "girl crush" too seriously.
Hyatt is married with two children, and Gutierrez has a serious boyfriend.
Gutierrez was slated to face Felice Herrig in a rematch at Bellator 84 on December 14, 2012, but she announced on Dec. 1, 2012 that she had suffered a broken hand and would not be able to fight.
No word yet on when Gutierrez plans to return to action. As for Hyatt, she's coming off a loss to Carla Esparza at the Jan. 5 Invicta FC 4 event.
Hyatt is rumored to be featured on the Invicta FC 5 card slated for late-April.
