The piece was created after critically-acclaimed artist Nico Vidal listened to Evinger's comments about Tate on a recent episode of ProWMMA! Now, where the standout striker opened up about her desire to knee "Cupcake" in the lower portion of her body.
"She's got her nose in everyone's business, so I think it's f**ked up to say since I hadn't even fought yet, it's already dropping her little seed in Dana's ear," Evinger said of Tate. "I'm going to knee her in the c**ter for that one, you know what I mean? I'm going to knee her or something really hot. I'm going to go crazy. I've been wanting to fight her for a long time. That would be a great fight."
Tate hasn't had any official comment in response to Evinger's interview remarks. She also hasn't commented on the artist's rendering of the situation.
In an exclusive interview with Long Island MMA Examiner Eric Holden, Vidal opened up about the piece. Here's what he had to say:
Q. What made you start doing MMA drawings?
Vidal: I f**king love love MMA, and my absolute favorites right now are all those female fighters in the UFC and Invicta. And like you know, the drama writes itself all the time, like the s*it that inspired the Conor McGregor drawing.
Q. Absolutely. So what made you focus on the sexy, scandalous side of MMA, rather than the fights?
Vidal: I guess talking to Tonya Evinger f**ked me up----I used to be a Jehovah's witness until I met Tonya, she corrupted my pure soul with her dirty mind.
Q. Interesting. So where are you from and what do you do for a day job?
Vidal: I live in Sweden, work as a tattoo artist and try to make ends meet.
Q. How is your day job working out for you?
Vidal: Well, like I said right now just trying to make ends meet, it's hard out here for a pimp you know.
Q. Are you hoping to sell the MMA prints at some point? Maybe make some t-shirts out of it? Or is this just a hobby?
Vidal: I started yesterday, just to show them to Tonya. I just love MMA, don't know anything about shirts but that would be cool.
