MLS home openers for 2013 released

Monday, MLS announced the 2013 home openers for each of its 19 clubs. The league's 18th season kicks off with six matches on Saturday, March 2, 2013, followed by three games on Sunday, March 3.

Seattle Sounders v Montreal Impact is the game to watch on Saturday. Two games, LA Galaxy v Chicago Fire and San Jose Earthquakes v Real Salt Lake - headline on Sunday.

Each MLS club will again play 34 games during the regular season. By the end of Week 4, all MLS clubs will play in front of their home fans.

The League is taking chances with early March games in snowy northern United States and Canada, but MLS is trying to not schedule games during breaks for international fixtures.

Times and broadcast information for the home openers will be announced in the coming weeks as part of the complete 2013 regular season schedule.

FC Dallas vs. Colorado Rapids (FC Dallas Stadium)
Vancouver Whitecaps FC vs. Toronto FC (BC Place)
Houston Dynamo vs. D.C. United (BBVA Compass Stadium)
Seattle Sounders FC vs. Montreal Impact (CenturyLink Field)
Chivas USA vs. Columbus Crew (The Home Depot Center)

Sunday, March 3:

LA Galaxy vs. Chicago Fire (The Home Depot Center)
Portland Timbers vs. New York Red Bulls (JELD-WEN Field)
San Jose Earthquakes vs. Real Salt Lake (Buck Shaw Stadium)
