Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Celebration will be held 11 a.m. January 21 at the Jack Reardon Civic Center, 5th Minnesota, Kansas City, Kan. The theme this year will be "Spreading the Commitment for The Dream Worldwide; for Justice, for Brotherhood and for Peace."
The celebration will begin with the annual King Holiday Mass Celebration and Motorcade/March for Hunger which will start gathering at 9 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 5th and Richmond, Kansas City, Kan. Leaving at 10 a.m., it will follow a route throughout the community and finish at 11 a.m. for the celebration at Reardon Center. Rev. C.E. Taylor/MLK, Jr. Educational Awards Program scholarships awards will be presented to high school students.
