On the MLB playoffs 2013 live stream and television schedule for Tuesday, Oct. 8 will be a Game 4 between the Rays and Red Sox. Boston still holds the edge 2-1, and will look to close out the series in Tampa Bay on Tuesday evening. However, the Rays will look to even things up and send it back to Fenway in Boston for a deciding Game 5. The latest ALDS game will be the second of the TV and live stream MLB playoff games from TBS and the MLB website.
According to ESPN.com's report on Oct. 8, tonight's starting pitchers are Jake Peavy for the Red Sox and Jeremy Hellickson for the Rays. Overall, Peavy has been 12-5 for the Sox over the past season with 121 strikeouts, and an ERA of 4.17, while Hellickson is 12-10, with 174 strikeouts and a 5.17 ERA. To make things more intense for Tampa Bay, they'll be facing elimination for their fourth time in nine days. However, last night's dramatic win, thanks to a ninth inning, two out homer from Jose Lobaton, has the momentum in their favor.
With that in mind, Red Sox manager John Farrell spoke about the loose style that he believes Tampa Bay has been playing with, and the Red Sox team's admiration for their opponents. Farrell told the media:
"I'm sure there's an attitude they have nothing to lose and just let it all hang out. That's what we've been accustomed to for years against the Rays. As I mentioned before the series started, we have tremendous respect for them and we know it will be a very similar game tomorrow night."
Hellickson had one decision, a win, out of three games he pitched against Boston this season, as well as a 3.44 ERA. He's given up three homeruns during his previous career postseason start, which ended up being a loss to the Rangers back in the 2011 ALDS, leading to Tampa Bay's elimination from the postseason. Hellickson will be charged with the task of trying to limit the Boston bats at Tropicana or else Boston moves on, while Tampa stays home. Of note, this is Boston pitcher Jake Peavy's first postseason start in seven years.
Odds makers have given the edge to the Red Sox to close out the series tonight, but the line is only slightly in their favor. Various books have the line ranging from -114 to -122, while the Rays are priced between at -105 and +112 at different books. The over/under bet is set at 7 1/2 combined runs for the two teams tonight in the game. Weather is a non-factor as the dome of Tropicana Field will be available.
Tonight's Tampa Bay Rays vs. Boston Red Sox ALDS Game 4 has a start time of 8:37 p.m. EST. Televised coverage for cable and satellite TV viewers will be on the TBS channel. For live stream online feeds, U.S. and Canadian viewers can purchase the subscription service here at MLB.com which allows for "alternate angle viewing" of all ALDS, NLDS and NLCS games live.
