MLB: Masahiro Tanaka signs with Yankees, ESPN ranks best pitching rotations

The biggest news in Major League Baseball this week was the New York Yankees signing Japanese pitching sensation Masahiro Tanaka to a seven year, $155 million deal. Tanaka 24-0 with an ERA of 1.27 last season while pitching for the Rakuten Golden Eagles. For more on the huge signing, click here.

On the heels of the Tanaka signing, David Schoenfield of ESPN.com ranked the top ten rotations in Major League Baseball. The Yankees come in at No. 5. The rest of the top four includes the Boston Red Sox, Washington Nationals, St. Louis Cardinals and our own Detroit Tigers. You can check out the entire piece by clicking here.

Speaking of the Tigers, pitchers and catchers will report to Lakeland, FL on Thursday, Feb. 13. The first game action comes on Tuesday, Feb. 25 as the Detroit will battle the Florida Southern College. The next day (Feb. 26), the Tigers will see their first MLB squad when they play the Atlanta Braves.
