Well, 2K Sports’ once prominent MLB 2K series is back.
But what can gamers really expect from the title?
With little more than a press release and one screenshot on the developer’s official website, the development process hasn’t gotten off to a fantastic start.
Considering the flaccid reviews MLB 2K12 received, the game will need a big overhaul.
Earlier this month, Jason Argent, the 2K Sports vice president of marketing, in a statement, thanked "our league partners for their support in helping us reach an agreement to bring back MLB 2K."
Tampa Bay Devil Rays ace David Price is excited to be the game's cover star, but his appearance won't change the way the game plays.
"It's a dream come true to appear on the cover of MLB 2K13," Price said in the pres release. "I'm looking forward to working with the 2K Sports team again, and welcoming another skilled gamer into 'The Perfect Club.'"
With such a short development cycle, it’s unclear what will be added. The always-popular “Perfect Game Challenge,” an annual contest that gives away a Million Dollars to the first person that throws a perfect game will return.
MLB 2K13 is scheduled to ship on March 5 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
