Mitt Romney to ‘repeal and replace’ 3,000-square-foot home with 12,000 feet

Mitt Romney’s plan to quadruple his 3,000-square-foot secluded La Jolla home to 12,000 square feet is back on track. After Mitt Romney’s presidential matters failed, maybe the former Republican presidential candidate’s residential matters will be more successful. Since La Jolla is part of San Diego, San Diego’s 10News drove by Mitt and Anne Romney’s La Jolla home and knocked on the door.

“There was no answer,” reported 10News on Feb. 6, 2013.

With the loud construction noise on both sides of Mitt and Anne Romney’s present 3,000-square-foot home already going on, it is no surprise that no one answered the door.

Demolition groups are in the process of taking down Mitt Romney’s neighbor’s house and if all goes as planned, Mitt Romney’s 3,000-square-foot home will be next.

According to San Diego’s 10News, Mitt Romney has resumed the permit process for his 12,000-square-foot home. The permitting process for Mitt Romney’s new mansion includes an environmental review and a public hearing.

Matthew Peterson, one of the lawyers representing Mitt and Anne Romney throughout the permit process, hopes that the demolition of the 3,000-square-foot home will begin in about seven months.

Since San Diego has stringent environmental and permit requirements for residential areas, it should be interesting to attend the public hearing for Mitt Romney’s mansion.

Would anyone speak up against Mitt Romney’s plans to have a car elevator with a basement garage that is bigger than the existing 3,000-square-foot home or would other residents in the area be proud to have a neighbor with a gadget like that?

Repeal and Replace” might just take on a whole new meaning.
