It seems Mitt just can't stop pulling stuff out of his bag of tricks, and this time what he said has really put a damper on his credibility. His stance on abortion has been a roller coaster ride this campaign, but he has stood his ground as a 'Pro Life' candidate since the beginning. So why exactly did tell the Des Moines Register that,
There’s no legislation with regards to abortion that I’m familiar with that would become part of my agenda.
Okay, it seems Mitt might be going the right direction here. But wait, there's more! In September, in regard to Supreme Court justices he would nominate, he told Meet the Press,
...it would be my preference that they reverse Roe v. Wade and therefore they return to the people and their elected representatives the decisions with regards to this important issue.
Oh you silly goose! Lets clarify his stance with what he told reporters in Ohio just yesterday,
I’ll be a pro-life president. The actions I’ll take immediately are to remove funding for Planned Parenthood. It will not be part of my budget.
C'mon Mitt! Don't you know that it would take legislation to remove funding from Planned Parenthood? Maybe you were just a little flustered with other issues to realize the little fib you told in Idaho.
It is reasonable for a human being to slip up every now and again. However, when the person could possibly become the leader of a nation, shouldn't they be clear about their agenda? This is just another curve ball thrown into the mix to confuse voters on an issue that is extremely important to millions of Americans. The people deserve a president who can understand the stance of women who just want control of their bodies, and because his religious convictions push him to have a backward look on secular society shows that he really does not understand. Church and State are separated so that the religious ideals do not stand in the way of constitutional right. Are we going to let a man take away the rights that women have fought for and push us back into the 19th century? Please don't be fooled by the Romney-Ryan plan to destroy women's rights, let your votes be heard and stop this hateful agenda.
